Officers from the Frederick County Sheriff's Office visited us to help combat the fear of the badge. They gave us lessons on internet safety, police procedures, as well as showing us the ins and outs of police cruisers and all their gadgets!
These lessons were followed up with lots of pets and a doggie visit from K9 Officer Majlo!
Campers learned proper horse safety and care techniques from Ravenwood Faire's very own Baroness of Aquitaine, Maeve St. Claire, and her trusty steed, Ty.
Ty and Baroness Maeve traveled far across the lands to give campers hands on experience in horse grooming and even got to paint Ty with animal safe paint. As a reward for his patience and amazing behavior, Ty was rewarded with lots of pets and cookies!
One of many arts and crafts activities consisted of designing and decorating their own medieval shields!
Thank you again to everyone who took the time and effort to make this dream come true. From our counseling staff, instructors, as well as outside influences, you truly helped make our first camp a magical experience for all!
Most of all, thank you to our first year campers for joining us and teaching us so much in return! You are the reason we do what we do, and we hope to have you back in the future as campers or junior counselors!
HUZZAH to all involved!
